I am this land

Where horizons intersect
and skies fall to the sea.

I retrace my steps
through memories paved.
Every brick, every bone:
the foundations laid.

Angular form,
harsh at the edge,
It’s surface torn,
I mustn’t forget.

For here I was born,
raised by the dirt.
The rose with the thorn,
forced from the earth.

For I am this land,
from the sky to the sea.
